Allies Close on Rome (film #50 on Universal Newsreels). [Category: Military & Propaganda]

Newsreel story about the Allied drive towards Rome after the capture of Monte Casino during the late days of World War II. This is pretty standard, with some historical interest in the showing of a couple of German secret weapons. Mostly this is just scenes of devastation in the aftermath of battle, though.
